I’m know I’m late to this but wow is Claude good for coding stuff! I gave it a problem I wasn’t sure how to go about solving it and it came up with a great way to do it. I’m setting up my radio blog again and I think it’s coming along well. The “manager” tool is the best part. Makes it very easy for me to add posts and particularly radio activations. Even just dropping photos, gpx route, and a log will generate a post. Any write up is optional - and that’s great for keep up with activations and sometimes I just want a record of where and some photos. The writing can often be the same “climbed this and did that on the radio.” The interesting part are the photos and the log.

I think a few more tweaks then I’m ready to migrate my posts and do the missing activations. Downloading all my photos from iCloud via icloudpd script is very useful for this too as they’re all saved in dated folders. Some of my old posts were days out split over multiple posts and at once stage I did summarise about 6 months in one blog post. So I’ll have to think how I sort those out.

I’ve told Claude not to make the website look too like it was created with AI, and it’s changed some things but it still looks a little like ai. I think it’s all the tiny details that I would never bother with myself. Once I’ve got the content in then I’ll come back to tweaking the design.

After that I’m thinking of making something for this site, in an outliner style. Although I still want to retain the ability to add content via 1Writer. So not sure about that…perhaps I just ask Claude and see what it comes up with! Would be nice to add a few pictures to here though - perhaps a featured image each post. I also want some public habit tracker thing to guilt me into doing whatever I’m trying to do. So maybe a little icon next to each day showing it. Currently it’s CW/morse practice, which I’m pretending to do by reading a book on it - the book is interesting but it’s not learning. I could have something on my phone or piece of paper to track it but it’s only me holding me accountable and I’m very good to excusing myself. Whereas if it were you, imaginary reader, then I want to do it. Partially for me and partially to show off how good I am at keeping up with a habit 😅 but if it works, it works. In order to avoid doing it further, I could make it very elaborate with an apple shortcuts POST to a web server or something so I press a button on my phone. Or even rebuild a training website and when I …no never mind. Lcwo has a public profile and I do think I should do that and work my way through the lessons. Perhaps I can automate extracting the info from it. No end of ways to avoid actual practicing.

Anyway, it’s good fun.
