I’m enjoying pika. Maybe the honeymoon phase but adding posts and writing up drafts that I’ve literally had for years.
It was similar when I signed up to micro.blog, however, using pika makes me realise how strangely organised mb is for images and even adding categories to posts. Also I always found images very slow to load on micro.blog, whereas they’re lightning fast on pika.
A funny aside is the work firewall blocks the pika cdn so pictures don’t appear on my posts. I’m fine with that as then people at work won’t look at it! I can still add stuff, and see the images when I’m writing the posts. Maybe because of different urls of pictures to my domain? Not really bothered.
Was also looking at the micropub API to post to pika, and how maybe there’s some system to transfer micro.blog posts to it programmatically. Or I just chip away at the past stuff manually…
I did wonder if I should take some of the past stuff and repost it as new. Rather than filling a back catalogue that no one will read, make it a new post, that no one will read. I’ll see, I’ve thought of about 6 posts I want to write anyway and just publishing one per day.
