Sometimes images don’t show on my micro.blog page. That just annoys me. Probably going to migrate away from it…again!

Started making a tiddlywiki as a replacement for my radio blog and wiki. Although deep into template transclusion and I don’t understand the docs. ChatGPT is also not doing a good job…tw is too niche for it. I have a tiddler per summit using the SOTA api json, which I made via a python script. Now trying to make each tiddler show a map using the lat/long in the fields. Keeps throwing errors, maybe it’s trying to render infinite loops or I don’t know what. I did think I could just generate the text using my python script to have a map. But then what am I doing? Recreating a map for the sake of it.

I did want to be able to link everything together. So if I had a route it would show or if I was planning a trip it could all be linked. Whilst it’ll be clever and efficient, I’m not sure what the benefit would be. An interactive map is nice but also just a screenshot of a map is also fine. If someone wants to copy my route having the gpx file is more useful, which I can just link. Plus tiddlywiki geospatial plugin doesn’t work with gpx files.

I think the interactive maps are more useful for planning, but again I’m plotting my route in another application anyway.

So…what am I doing? 🤷🏼‍♂️
